I thought UPMC McKeesport was bad. OMG my visit last night to OVGH was ridiculous. I suffered from an abortion the day prior and went in with abdominal pains, not only did I wait 2 hours on a not busy night but they gave me nothing for the pain and only repeated a diagnosis I gave myself...to them. I don't need you to tell me I had a miscarriage....I told you that. So now I'm still doubled over and pain. Then the doctor said he'd give me something for the pain.....NOPE! The doctor, nurses ans the rest of the staff just talked about their weekends and going to their mothers home and catching up with their cousin. The amount of gossiping going on was absurd and not once did they come in to check up on me.He gave me a prescription to follow up with my doctor for hcg levels.....freaking joke! Then the staff acts as if your in convincing them with your pain.....I probably would wish a visit to Ohio Valley General hospital on my worst enemy. lol....it's that bad!
I have been going to Ohio Valley since I was born and will continue to, however this review is not about the hospital itself it is about the ER. I have had many positive experiences with the hospital, outpatient, cardiology, etc....The ER is and has always been a disaster, everything that people have wrote about here is exactly correct. The staff, doctors and nurses, etc...sit around and gossip, laughing and having a good time even when your there alone or there is 1 or 2 other patients. They totally neglect you and the time from beginning(registration) to end(discharge)is ridiculous...expect to be there anywhere from 4 to 8 hours or possibly even more for anything. I honestly think this is done on purpose to deter people from coming to the ER for medical attention. It is a classless ward.
I went in tonight for a large cut on my finger that has been bleeding since 11 this morning. I sat there for three and a half hours and for nothing. I finally left at 1a.m. because I had a baby to get home to and work at 9. Their excuse was there aren't any rooms. But they had know problem taking people in that had a swollen eye! I will never go back there.
Vary rude staff.. Especially the nurses.. They are very disrespectful.. I don't plan on coming back anytime.. I'll go to a out of the way hospital before ever considering this place again....
4 hour wait for an ace bandage and a referral to a doctor who is on vacation for a week. Then waited an additional 30min for MRI results they forgot to give us after leaving. Total garbage. I'd rather a homeless man do medical procedures on me behind a dumpster at McDonald's than go here Again.
